This morning I went to visit a friend who has been in the hospital caring for her young daughter. After surgery, her daughter began suffering from complications and they haven't yet found any answers. I feel for my friend because, as a mother myself, it would be difficult to watch your child in pain and angry from being picked and prodded at all the while knowing there was nothing you could do about it.

Today as we were unpacking a few boxes my daughter Avery came across some of her school things from last year. At the end of her junior kindergarten year her teacher handmade a scrapbook for each one of her students. It documents many moments from the year and is a little bit of history from a very important milestone in her life.

Driving home from running some errands with my mother, we passed another man holding a homemade cardboard sign looking for money, food or work. My mom was sharing with me a story about kid she recently helped by giving them some loose change so they could make bus fare. You never know what the person seeking need
actually needs, but scripture is very clear that we are never to judge the motive of one's heart.

I dropped my daughter off at school this morning and as I was walking back down the hall to leave I noticed a sign on the wall outside one of the classrooms. I stopped to read it quickly and then proceeded down the hall to leave. I silently smiled to myself at what I read not wise to the moment God was using to speak to me.
